Guilin Nanxi Hill Park

Located at the southern end of South Zhongshan Road in Guilin, Nanxi Hill Park is 3 kilometers from the city proper. Famous Nanxi Hill sits in the park.

Nanxi Hill Park

As early as in the Tang Dynasty, the development of tourist attractions in Nanxi Hill started, hence Nanxi Hill has been a famed scenic spot for more than 1,000 years. Two rock peaks in the hill look like a pen rack, with the distance between two peaks of only 0.3 meter wide. The rock walls in the south and north are as white as jade as if they were surrounded by clouds after rain, hence “Nanxi Hill After Rain” is one of the eight major scenic sights in Guilin.

Nanxi Hill has a large number of rock caves, such as White Dragon Cave, Chuanyun Cave, Guodi Cave, Avalokitesvara Cave, Longji Cave, etc., which are all lined with each other, each displaying its own unusual scenery.

White Dragon Cave

About 500 meters long, this cave has snow-white walls and an entrance in the shape of a dragon, hence the name. You will come to Bichuang Rock after passing through White Dragon Cave, Xuan Rock and Sizhou Rock. Bichuang Rock sits on a precipice. Standing on the rock, you cannot see the bottom of the valley, but you feel as if you can touch the sky with your hand. Leaning against the balusters, you can have a panoramic view of the scene around.
