The large comprehensive public park in Guangzhou is located on Yuexiu Mountain on West Huanshi Road in the downtown area of Guangzhou. On its ground of 928,000 square meters there are 3 man-made lakes, 7 hills and a large number of ancient trees. The green area takes up 90 percent of the land of the park. Plants remain luxuriant all year round.
Yuexiu Mountain has been a tourist attraction since ancient times. There are many historical sites in the park, including the only section of the city wall built during the Ming Dynasty; Zhenhai Tower built in the Ming Dynasty, which is now the Guangzhou Museum; the Five-Ram Stone Sculpture which is regarded as the city emblem of Guangzhou and the Monument to Sun Yat-sen. New tourist attractions combining plant plastic art with human landscapes have been added to the park.

This garden is located at the entrance to Baiyun Mountain. It is called Yuntai Garden because it has Yuntai Ridge of Baiyun Mountain on its back and rare flowering plants from China and abroad. It was opened to the public in 1995, becoming one of the newest tourist attractions in the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Zone. It is also a large park of plant plastic art in China.

Guangzhou Cultural Park by the Pearl River is a popular site for exhibitions, performances, sports activities, sightseeing and entertainment. Exhibition is one of its most important functions. On its premises of 83,000 square meters there are 9 exhibition halls of culture and art. It has held nearly 10,000 exhibitions in the part 50 years and the exhibitions of calligraphy, painting and photography have never been disrupted.

Huacheng Square, located at the new central axis of Guangzhou, is the Guangzhou’s new urban reception room, and surrounded by the Guangzhou Opera House, Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou Library, and other unique buildings with modern art and aesthetics. The above together with the central boulevard and riverside green belts constitute the Guangzhou Cultural Arts Plaza. Considering the season characteristics of Guangzhou such as long-time sunshine and high temperature, Huacheng Square is full of green trees which form shades and shallow and lucid water. In the north of the square is a small artificial lake, on which there are five islands. Two islands are planted with peaches and willow trees and three islands are planted with cherry trees, which form the beautiful scenery of “red peach blossoms and green willows”.
Located on North Jiefang Road in downtown Guangzhou and facing Yuexiu Park from a distance, the Orchid Garden takes up an area of about 40,000 square meters. Except orchids, there are also wisteria plants and bamboo in the garden. The Tongsheng Hall, Guoxiang Hall, Thatched House, Xiyin Pavilion, Mingjing Tower, zigzagging paths and roofed corridors are well merged with the natural scenery to demonstrate the tranquil gardening style south of the Yangtze River and the lucid and lively gardening style in the Lingnan Region.
The garden has three hothouses with nearly 10,000 pots of orchids. It is a great joy for people to appreciate the flowers and have a cup of tea in the teahouse in the garden.

Covering an area of 230,000 square meters, the Pearl River Park is located near the Pearl River New City. The city-level park provides services for sightseeing, entertainment, cultural and leisure activities. Hills, streams, waterfalls, lakes and graceful buildings merge with large stretches of tress, highlighting a tropical flavor of South Asia. The park is divided into 8 main scenic areas: Scenic Wood Area, Foliage Plant Area, Osmanthus Garden, Magnolia Garden, Palm Tree Garden, Rose Garden, Hundred-Flower Garden and Lake Area. Plants in the areas are arranged in neat groups according to different species.
Transport: Take bus No. 550 from the Railway Station, get off at the stop of Machang Road and walk for 10 minutes to the park.
Located in West Xiatang Road, Fei’e Ridge of Baiyun Mountain, the Guangzhou Sculpture Park of 463,000 square meters consists of the Ram City Sculpture Area, Chinese History Sculpture Area, Grand View Garden of Sculptures and Forest Landscape Area. Works in the Ram City Sculpture Area display the 2,000-year-old history of Guangzhou. Life-like, of primitive simplicity and in various styles they represent the highest artistic level of the art of modern sculpture in the Lingnan Region. Various sculptures together with luxuriant plants give the park an air of fairyland.
